This position supports the Union County Board of Developmental Disabilities Harold Lewis Center. At the Harold Lewis Center Preschool, each child is provided with an educational program which directly relates to the child's abilities and area(s) of need, the child's family issues and concerns, and the child's chronological age. The Speech Therapist/Language Development Specialist position is a Regular Full-Time position. The position does not begin until July 31, 2017. Works under the general supervision of the Harold Lewis Center Preschool Coordinator, or Early Intervention Lead.  The Language Development Specialist is a licensed professional responsible for planning, developing and implementing plans for providing instructional or therapeutic language development training. Ensures that Board services are designed and implemented in a way that enriches the lives of the eligible individual and meets program health and safety guidelines. Will work a flexible schedule, approximately 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m., 195 days pre year. At all times, the Speech Therapist/Language DEvelopment Specialist must strive to meet the UCBDD published Mission Statement and exemplify the UCBDD defined Core Values.

Job Requirements

Education/Experience:

• Master's Degree in Speech therapy or related field.

Credential/License:

• Current Speech-Language Pathologist license from the Ohio Board of Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology.
• Current School Speech-Language Pathologist license from the Ohio Department Education (Preschool only).
• Must obtain and maintain First Aid and CPR certification.

Other:

• Must have reliable transportation.
• Must maintain a valid State of Ohio Driver's License if operating a personal vehicle for official agency business
• Must be capable of passing a comprehensive pre-employment background investigation.

Salary Range

$40,279.20/yr. to $75,233.20/yr.
