The Union County Clerk of Courts is the official record keeper for the Union County Court of Common Pleas and the Third District Court of Appeals. The Court of Common Pleas hears civil, criminal, and domestic relations cases. The Court of Appeals hears appeals from the Court of Common Pleas, Probate and Juvenile Court, and Marysville Municipal Court.
The Clerk of Courts is responsible for recording, maintaining, indexing, and certifying the legal documents filed in the above cases. The Clerk of Courts is also responsible for receiving, accounting, and dispersing fines, fees, restitution, and other payments made in those cases.
The Clerk of Courts must follow the procedure required by law and issue writs to carry out Court orders. These writs include summons, subpoenas, warrants to arrest and convey to penal institutions.
The Clerk of Courts also:
Maintains all Motor Vehicles and Watercraft Titles
Accepts Bonds
Calls The Jury
Administers Oaths
And serves as a member of the:
Union County Data Processing Board- Vice Chair
Union County Record Commission
Ohio Clerk of Courts Association, where she holds a position in the Legislative Committee.
