The Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS), formed in response to the 1930's Dust Bowl, works with landowners to conserve natural resources on private lands. A federal agency with close partnerships with County SWCD offices, NRCS provides technical assistance for United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) Farm Bill programs.
The Union SWCD and NRCS, co-located in Marysville, Ohio, work with farmers to address soil and water conservation issues and also educate urban landowners on ways to prevent soil erosion and drainage problems.
Union County now has digitized soils data! Aerial photos and soils information can be found on the Union County Auditor's Web page. Tile lines are fairly visible on the 1997 aerial. Property information of all sorts may be found in this area.
Historical Photos of Union County are available for viewing at The Marysville Public Library. We no longer have any such aerial photography.
The Union Soil and Water Conservation District and the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) prohibit discrimination in their programs based on race, color, national origin, sex, religion, age, disability, political beliefs, and marital or familial status.
