What is the Sheriff’s Citizen Academy?
The Sheriff’s Citizen Academy is an 8-week course offered by the Union County Sheriff’s Office Community Relations Bureau.  Citizens will have an increased awareness of the day-to-day operations of the Sheriff’s Office by learning topics relative to the role of a law enforcement officer in our community.
 What is the Purpose?
The academy is not intended to make citizens into law enforcement officers, but to allow citizens to learn more about the procedures of the Sheriff’s Office.  Citizens will learn about the actual role of the Sheriff’s Office and in return the Sheriff’s Office will benefit from the wealth of knowledge the citizens can share about their community.
The Sheriff’s Citizen Academy is an opportunity for us to show how serious our commitment is to Union County.  It is our hope the graduates of the Sheriff’s Citizen Academy take their knowledge into the community, educate others and make informed decisions which positively affect Union County and the Sheriff’s Office.
 When is the Academy?
The academy will begin Monday, September 8, 2025 at 6 pm.
