The Auditor's office is the focal point in the County for the issuance of licenses for dogs, kennels, vendors, cigarettes, and junk yards.
Dog licenses comprise the largest number of licenses sold (6,977 in 2005). The annual dog registration is a service designed to benefit the animal, its owner and the community. Cigarette Licenses: According to Ohio Revised Code 5743, any person engaged in the business of selling, distributing or storing cigarettes in the State of Ohio must have a Cigarette License. The annual license fee is $125.00, due by the 4th Monday in May. For new licenses purchased during the year, the license fee is pro-rated.
Vendor's licenses authorize businesses to sell tangible property to the public collecting sales tax of which part is returned for use on the local level.
