Emergency Snow Closures

Probate & Juvenile Divisions

In the event of inclement weather and poor driving conditions due to snowfall, the Probate & Juvenile Court observes the Snow Emergency Level issued by the Union County Sheriff’s Office and operates as follows.

Level I Snow Emergency: Court offices will be open. If you are scheduled to attend a hearing before the Court but cannot safely travel, call the Court before your hearing. The Court may be able to facilitate your appearance by remote videoconferencing, or the hearing may be continued.

Level II Snow Emergency: The Judge will determine whether the Court is open or closed during a Level II emergency, therefore if you are scheduled to appear, call before you come to the Court to verify the Court is open. If the Court is open and you are unable to travel safely, call the Court before your hearing. The Court may be able to facilitate your appearance by remote videoconferencing, or the hearing may be continued.

Level III Snow Emergency: Court offices will be closed until the Level III emergency is lifted. All hearings scheduled for that day will be continued. The Court will open the next business day.
